A Religion with Millions of Gods Hinduism

0

Hinduism, aka Brahmanism, is a religion with 33 million Gods, and Brahma, the creator of the universe, lies at the bottom of it. Hindus, who believe in Hinduism, accept three Holy Scriptures: Vedas, Brahmas and Upanishads. However each Hindu believes in one God only and they believe very religiously. Hinduism is a common religion mostly in India, Nepal and Bangladesh.

Primary Gods are Shiva, the creator of life and death, Brahma, the creator of universe, and Vishnu, the protector of the world. What’s more, Vishnu is believed to disguise himself in human being and help Hindus, which is called “incarnation”.

Since there are millions of Gods to believe, sculptures representing these Gods are found in these three countries mentioned above. Not only the sculptures, animal, mountain and river are also consecrated by Hindus.

For instance, cow is very holy and it’s a sin to eat cow meat. Also, the Ganges is another sacred thing such as bathing in its waters is a kind of worship. Yoga has a particular importance for Hindus. It’s rather a journey and worship that creates coherence between spirit and body than simply exercise.

Doctrines of Hinduism

Hindus have a mixed perception towards belief. For them, spirit is immortal and comes into existence as an animal or a plant following death. That’s why animals and plants are thought to be sacred. It’s like showing respect to decedents. This is called Reincarnation. They also believe that whatever goes around in previous lives comes around in new lives.

Doctrines of Hinduism are compiled in a large body of texts, Holy Vedas. The Samhitas with knowledge of hymn, magic, and sacrifice; the Brahmanas including prose texts, the Aranyakas with Hindu philosophy; and the Upanishads defined as secret doctrines and information about the forest are the major sections that explain Hinduism the best.

Time is death, because time destroys the life of mortal through days and nights.
