Hallstatt one of the best villages of Austria or maybe one of the best in the world fascinates everybody with it’s winter beauty. It takes about an hour to walk the whole village that is under the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is possible to arrive from both Salzburg and Vienna. By the lake there are many winter activities to do. Trekking, visiting the salt mine, taking some selfies in front of old houses and drink from the famous Hallstat beer.

This town is also known as a viewpoint for aurora borealis from November till march.On the north of Saariselka you can try fish hunting in a frozen lake. Here the snow is truely very tick so you can tray a ice safari driven by huskies, have an entertaining ren deer sledge ride or snowmobile activities.

This medieval town on the shores of Semois river is lately became quite popular for natural living, fishing and foodies. Local patisseries and famous Belgium chocolates and the 13th Century Bouillon Castle i all makes this cozy town a winter tale.

  • Cortina, Italy

Cortina d’Ampezzo has become very famous after Peter Sellers’s Pink Panther first serial. On top pf that the little town has hosted winter Olympics in 50’s and 60’s. Other than skiing the town is lively as well thanks to the beautiful town centre, the luxory boutiques and stylish restaurants.

Rothenburg is a very well preserved medieval town that enjoys every winter day as it is a Christmas day. So if you visit the town under snow you may have more sights to see. There is a Christmas Market in the town centers that remain open during the whole winter time. The town under the white snow has a quite and mysterious aura. In a local Rothenburg house you may sip your wine across a well lit fireplace.

Reine village is founded on Moskenesøya north pole and of course it is a small cozy Norwegian fisher village. The village in fact has only 329 inhabitants but it was chosen the best village in Norway. When it snows it becomes easier to understand why this village was chosen.
