The Best Algarve Gardens in Portugal

0

Algarve is located in the southernmost region of Portugal, one of the regions of Gulf of Cádiz, and one of the most important 5 regions of the country thanks to the coastline where the Atlantic and Gulf of Cádiz intersect.

Because it is the most touristic area where golden beaches, very clean shores, almond trees, historical places and lots of activities are present, the Algarve is also called “the Garden of Portugal”.

Transport in Algarve

You can come here pretty much anytime during the year; however, summer time might be too hot and too crowded that you may find uncomfortable. Therefore spring is probably the ideal time for the Algarve.

Faro Airport and Portimao Airport are the two airports that you can use; Faro Airport is the most commonly used. Intra-city transportation includes trains and buses, and rental cars are available for faster transportation.

Accommodation in Algarve

A great variety of accommodation options will make you feel like home here in the Algarve. Vale d’Oliveiras Quinta Resort & Spa, Conrad Algarve, Tivoli Victoria, Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa, Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa, Epic Sana Algarve Hotel, Bela Vista Hotel & SPA, Blue & Green The Lake Spa Resort, Real Marina Hotel & Spa, Quinta Do Lago Hotel, Monte Santo Resort, Blue & Green Vilalara Thalassa Resort, Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel, Pine Cliffs Residence, Vila Joya, Cascade Resort, Vale da Lapa Resort & SPA, Suites Alba Resort & Spa and Sheraton Algarve Hotel are only some of high-class hotels in the Algarve.

Beaches

For starters I rent a car and go to the beach right away. Praia da Rocha Beach, Praia da Marinha Beach, Praia dos Pescadores Beach, Praia da Coelha Beach, Praia dos Pescadores Beach and Praia do Túnel Beach are the most popular beaches in the Algarve.

Then I take a boat trip and start island-hopping among offshore islands of the Algarve. Tavira, Culatra and Armona are the most beautiful ones.

Monuments

Cerro da Vila Roman Ruins, Castle of Silves, Castle of Paderne, Fort of Santa Catarina and Castle of Alvor are the most famous historical areas whereas Church of São Lourenço, Cathedral Faro and Silves Cathedral are must-see religious buildings. There is much more than that, but you will soon realize you will never have enough time to visit all of them.

Entertainment

Another thing about the Algarve is the colorful festivals; the International Sand Sculpture Festival is the most famous one. Festival do Marisco in August, Feira de Arte in June, Folklore Festival in September, Carnaval Loulé in February and Holy Week in April guarantee that you will definitely come across at least one festival no matter when you come here.

Restaurants

Locals care so much about living a healthy life. That’s why vegetables, marine products and spices are largely consumed here in the Algarve. De Querença, Casa de Pasto, Centenario, Domingos, Ababuja, Abrigo da Montanha and Abrigo da Serra are some really good restaurants that I can recommend. Enjoy!
